Two non-conference games remain for South Dakota State, but for the first time this season, the Jackrabbits host back-to-back games when they welcome the Central Michigan Chippewas to Frost Arena on Saturday at 7 p.m.
The short two game homestand did not get off to a great start for the Jacks though, as they came up on the short end of a 73-66 game against Cal Poly on Tuesday in the first game.
The Jacks and Mustangs played to 17 ties and exchanged the lead 15 times, but the Mustangs scored the final eight points to secure its first road win of the season with a 73-66 win over the Jackrabbits.
Clint Sargent lead four Jackrabbits in double figures with 16 points, Garrett Callahan added 13, while Tony Fiegen finished with 12. Kai Williams scored 11 points and led the Jacks with eight rebounds.
Callahan continues to lead the Jackrabbit offense with 12.5 points per game and with 10 steals. Sargent adds 10.3 points per game, thanks in large part to a team-high 49 percent three-point percentage and an 84.6 free-throw percentage. Williams and Anthony Cordova both average 9.6 points, with Williams leading the team with 4.7 rebounds per game.
