Upcoming Event: Women's Golf versus Redbird Invitational on September 7, 2025

The goal of the South Dakota State University Athletics advising team is to create an environment where all student-athletes feel welcome and supported so that they have the opportunity to maximize their academic, personal, and social growth and improve their post-college quality of life.
Each sport is assigned an academic advisor who is responsible for contact with current student-athletes on their assigned teams to provide academic support and to monitor the student's academic progress per NCAA academic eligibility requirements. Advisors in athletics work hand in hand with other advisors across campus to provide seamless advising and support for each major offered at SDSU. We are able to review major change requests to ensure student-athletes meet NCAA benchmarks in the new program and also assist new and prospective student-athletes during the recruiting process and at New Student Orientation. Our office regularly communicates with coaches and student-athletes on a wide range of academic support services available across campus along with important semester dates/deadlines.
The full-time advisors are located inside the academic center within the Stiegelmeier Family Student-Athlete Center.
