Jacks to host SDSU Classic at Edgebrook

The South Dakota State men's and women's cross country teams return to their home stomping grounds at Edgebrook Golf Course for the SDSU Classic on Saturday.
The Classic features 13 teams, four of which are regionally ranked. On the men's side, Kansas State is ranked 14th in the Midwest Region while SDSU comes in at 15th. The women also boast two regionally ranked teams with Minnesota coming in at first and Kansas State ranking sixth.
"Myself and the team are really looking forward to competing at home against quality competition," said head coach Rod DeHaven. "Running on familiar ground will be a boost to our young men and women."
The men's 8K race will kickoff at 10:30 a.m. with the women's race getting the nod at 11:15 a.m. An awards ceremony will conclude the meet at noon.
The SDSU Classic with culminate with a reunion of the 1989 cross country team that featured the men's national champions and a women's team that placed third in the same year.
