Jacks meet Roadrunners in Utah

South Dakota State ran its winning streak to five and its overall record to 7-3 on Thursday in the first game of the World Vision Classic with a 75-72 overtime win over Idaho State. The Jackrabbits now look to push the winning streak to six and their record to 8-3 on Friday against Bakersfield, which fell to tournament host Utah State on Thursday by the score of 57-56.
Junior transfer George Marshall made his Jackrabbit debut in the win, and finished with 15 points to go along with a career-high eight rebounds. He also played a career- and game-high 43 minutes. SDSU also got 15 points and seven rebounds from Deondre Parks and a career-high 13 points from Connor Devine off the bench.
Cody Larson led the Jackrabbits with 17 points and tied for team-high honors with eight rebounds before fouling out with five seconds left in the extra frame.
TONIGHT'S OPPONENT
BAKERSFIELD ROADRUNNERS (1-9, 0-2 Neutral): Picked to finish sixth in the eight team WAC, the Roadrunners entered the World Vision Classic with a 1-8 record and enter tonight's game with a 1-9 mark after falling to the host Utah State Aggies last night by the score of 57-56.
The 1-9 mark includes one point losses to High Point, UC Riverside and Utah State and two point losses in home games against South Dakota and Fresno State. The Roadrunners entered this week's event after a 65-59 loss at Portland State last Saturday.
THE SERIES vs. BAKERSFIELD
Series tied 2-2, with each team winning on its home floor and both games in Bakersfield going into overtime. The Roadrunners won the last meeting in double overtime by a 79-78 score on Feb. 20, 2013. SDSU won the last meeting at Frost Arena on Dec. 9, 2012 by a 69-63 score with a blizzard raging outside.
