BROOKINGS, S.D. - Four members of the South Dakota State volleyball team were honored on the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Volleyball Team, released by the organization Tuesday. The Academic All-District teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.Â
Rylee Martin,
Joslyn Richardson,
Katie Van Egdom and
Rachel Wieber were chosen to represent the Jackrabbits. Van Egdom is a repeat selection while Martin, Richardson and Wieber are first-time honorees. Richardson, with a 4.0 GPA in construction management, advances to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.
All four student-athletes were major contributors to the Jackrabbits' run to their first Summit League title since 2007 and the program's first at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.
The full release of Academic All-District selections is available on the
CSC website. The national ballot of First-, Second- and Third-Team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on January 14, 2025.
