BROOKINGS, S.D. - Ten members of the South Dakota State cross country and track and field programs were named to the College Sports Communicators 2024 Academic All-District teams Tuesday. The teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the track, in the field, and in the classroom.
The Jackrabbits receiving the honor are:Â
- Evan Henderson - Jr., Sioux Fall, South Dakota - 4.0 undergraduate GPA in exercise science (pre-physical therapy)
- Jared Wipf - Jr., Tea, South Dakota - 3.93 undergraduate GPA in human biology (pre-dentistry)
- Drew Olson - Sr., Alexandria, Minnesota - 3.75 undergraduate GPA in biology (pre-dentistry)
- Daniel Burkhalter - Gr., Prairie City, South Dakota - 3.95 undergraduate GPA in statistics, 4.0 graduate GPA in data science
- Hunter Wallster - Sr., Estevan, Sk, Canada - 4.0 undergraduate GPA in mechanical engineering, 4.0 graduate GPA in mechanical engineering
- Claire Beckman - Jr., Andover, Minnesota - 3.80 undergraduate GPA in communication studiesÂ
- Grace Waage - Jr., Sioux Falls, South Dakota - 3.93 GPA in nutrition and dieteticsÂ
- Leah Hisken - Sr., Willmar, Minnesota - 3.73 undergraduate GPA in history, 3.83 graduate GPA in curriculum and instructionÂ
