JACKS CROWN TWO CHAMPIONS AT TIGER STYLE INVITE

Columbia, Mo. - Brady Roark and Cale Seaton both brought home titles from the Tiger Style Invite at 125 and 133 pounds as the Jacks opened their season on Sunday.
Roark fought for three consecutive decisions before facing off with No. 31 Mack Mauger in the finals. Down 5-1 with 15 seconds remaining, Roark was able to hit a Winn-Dixie roll to secure a takedown and nearfall points just in the nick of time, coming away with a 7-5 decision win over Mauger.
Seaton scored a major in his opening match before facing off with the No. 19 Blake Boarman in the semi-finals. Seaton was able to secure his spot in the finals by scoring a takedown in sudden victory, pulling off the upset. In the finals, faced with a similar situation, Seaton was once again able to score a takedown in sudden victory against Isaiah Schaefer to secure the 133 pound title.
The Jacks had five wrestlers make the finals of their respective weight classes. Cael Swensen and Marcus Espinoza-Owens fell just short in their finals matches with No. 28 Stoney Buell and No. 13 Maxx Mayfield, coming away with runner-up finishes on the day. Tommy Dineen scored a ranked win in his first match of the day, on his way to a runner-up finish after he defaulted in the finals.
Perhaps the biggest win of the day for the Jacks was Moses Espinoza-Owens taking down No. 8 Cam Steed, a returning All-American in his debut at 174 pounds, by decision 12-8. Espinoza-Owens finished third at 174 pounds. Brock Fettig also finished third after avenging an earlier loss to Mizzou's Logan Cole, 6-4, by decision.
In other action, Logan Swensen, Daniel Guanajuato, Tyson Peach, Alek Martin, and Burk Blasius all secured fifth place finishes.
Meanwhile in Fargo at the Bison Open, the newest members of the SDSU wrestling team were making waves. Jacob Herm made the biggest splash taking down No. 7 in the country, Peyten Kellar in the semi-finals by decision, 13-7, on his way to a runner-up finish at 165 pounds. In his finals match against No. 11 Andrew Sparks, Herm made a valiant effort but fell just short, dropping the match, 7-11.
Alongside Herm, freshman Liam Neitzel, Conlan Carlson and Keenan Sheridan all finished third in their respective brackets, which included two tech falls for Sheridan, highlighted by a 17-1 tech fall over No. 32 Max Maganya of NDSU.

The Jacks are home next week as they host Augustana on Friday night at 7 p.m. in the first dual of the 2025-26 season at First Bank & Trust Arena, followed by the Warren Williamson Daktronics Invite on Nov. 16th in the SJAC.
