The 2025 Jackrabbit Athletic Scholarship Auction set a record for the fourth consecutive year, raising more than $2.55 million this past weekend.
More than 500 items were up for bids between the online silent auction and live auction. In addition, a crowd of more than 1,000 people gathered for the April 26 event at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex on the South Dakota State University campus.
"To have the Jackrabbit Athletic Scholarship Auction continue to set records solidifies what may be our most successful athletics year ever," SDSU Director of Athletics Justin Sell said. "When you consider the number of conference championships we've won this season, the facility projects that have been completed, record attendance and the success of our student-athletes in the classroom, those things don't happen without this type of tremendous support."
The final total of $2,552,557 includes a 2-for-1 matching gift from an anonymous donor. That total bettered last year's record amount by nearly $164,000 and marks the third consecutive year the amount raised has surpassed $2 million. The event has topped the $1 million mark each of the last nine years.
