TULSA, Okla - South Dakota State senior
Brooklyn Meyer set a new program record with 44 points in a 95-93 win at Oral Roberts Thursday night at the Mabee Center.
The Jackrabbits' standout forward delivered the most dominant offensive performance in program history on 15-of-22 shooting from the floor and a 14-of-17 effort from the free throw line. Meyer added four assists, three rebounds and three blocks in 35 minutes on the floor.
In total, the contest featured 25 ties and 18 lead changes over 40 minutes, and neither team led by more than five at any point. Both teams scored 26 points each in the first quarter and 29 apiece in the fourth, while the Jackrabbits won by just one point in the second and third periods - 16-15 and 24-23.
The Jackrabbits won the game on a last-second layup from senior
Madison Mathiowetz, who put together a big night of her own. Mathiowetz scored 23 for the Jacks on 10-of-17 shooting and gave out two assists. With the game tied at 93-all and seven seconds remaining, Mathiowetz took an inbound pass from
Ellie Colbeck and used a Meyer screen to lose her defender and finished off a wide-open layup for the win.

SDSU shot nearly 58% for the game and was 67% in the second half. The Jacks had a slight edge, 34-33, in rebounding and an 11-10 advantage in assists.
