SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota State forward
Brooklyn Meyer was tabbed the latest Summit League Women's Basketball Kwik Star Peak Performer of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday. The weekly award is the sixth of Meyer's season and 12th of her career.
Meyer set an SDSU single-game scoring record with a career-high 44 points in the Jackrabbits' 95-93 road win at Oral Roberts. The senior went 15-for-22 from the field and 14-for-17 from the foul line, while adding four assists, three rebounds and three blocks in the victory over the Golden Eagles. Her 44 points were the most by a Summit League player in a game this season and tied for third most by a Division I player.
The Larchwood, Iowa, native became the first Jackrabbit to score 40-plus in a game, backed up that performance with her eighth double-double of the season, scoring 19 points and pulling down 10 rebounds in a 71-55 road win at Denver.
In the two road victories, Meyer averaged 31.5 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 3.0 apg and 3.0 bpg for an SDSU team that is currently second in the Summit standings at 12-2.
In league play, Meyer leads the Summit League in scoring at 22.0 ppg and field goal percentage (66.7), while ranking fourth in rebounding at 8.6 boards per contest.
