Background: Joined the South Dakota State program after spending the 2024-25 season as a redshirt at Iowa ... prior to his first year in college in Iowa City, Buchanan was a two-time Indiana all-state selection at Westfield High School in Indiana ... also was a two-time all-conference and all-county honoree ... senior campaign during the 2023-24 calendar year saw Buchanan average 14 points, three rebounds and three assists, while shooting 46% from the field and over 40% beyond the 3-point line ... as a junior, Buchanan averaged 14.5 points, four rebounds and just under three assists per game ... made 160 3-point field goals during his final three prep seasons ... holds school records for most 3-pointers made in a half (seven) and in a game (10), along with most points scored in a quarter (24) ... was named an Indiana All-Star as both a senior and junior along with a Supreme 15 team selection his senior year ... led his high school team to its best winning percentage ever as well as its most wins in a single season with 19 ... an Academic All-State performer as a senior ... member of National Honor Society ...
