Kansas State used a big advantage in the English discipline to down South Dakota State, 11.5-5.5 in head-to-head equestrian competition Saturday at the Swiftel Center.
The Wildcats won six of eight head-to-head matchups in English, including two victories by Kendall Marrin, who swept MVP honors in both equitation over fences and equitation on the flat.
SDSU's lone victory in the English discipline was by senior Marian Michalson, who tallied a score of 76 in equitation over fences. Freshman Ashley Marrin earned a tie for the Jackrabbits in equitation on the flat with a score of 75 in a deadlock with Kendall Marrin.
On the Western side, Jordanne Blair and Molly Seidel each earned victories for the Jackrabbits in horsemanship, with Abby Knobbe and freshman Angela Gebhart picking up wins in reining.
The Jackrabbits return to action Oct. 6 with a head-to-head competition at South Carolina.
