ROCHESTER, Mich. - Kori Seidlitz scattered three hits and gave up one run, while Morgan McCabe went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and a pair of RBI, as the Jackrabbits avoided the sweep with a 3-1 Summit League win over Oakland on Saturday in Rochester, Mich.
SDSU improves to 15-29 overall and 7-8 in The Summit League. Oakland falls to 15-27 overall with the same 7-8 record in league play.
McCabe got the Jacks on the board in the top of the first with an RBI single that scored Devon Reick to put the Jacks up 1-0.
McCabe struck again the third with a double to center that scored Dani Broshar to make it 2-0 Jackrabbits. Two batters later, McCabe scored on a Greta Stroh single that plated the Jacks final run of the game.
The only mistake Seidlitz made in the circle all day came in the sixth, when Oakland's Abbie Richardson opened the frame with a pinch hit solo homerun.
Seidlitz recorded the next two outs before giving way to Pam Nicholson, who recorded the final four outs of the game to earn her second save of the season. Seidlitz picked up the win to boost her record to 12-16 on the season.
The Jackrabbits return home for their final two series of the season, starting with a doubleheader against Centenary on Friday at 3 p.m.
