Upcoming Event: Men's Basketball versus Mayville State (Exhibition) on October 29, 2025 at 8:30 p.m.

12/18/2015 10:49:00 AM | Men's Basketball
South Dakota State's second winning streak came to an end on Wednesday with a 79-67 loss at Texas Tech, which marked just the second loss for the Jackrabbits, who look to start a new winning streak on Saturday, when they travel to Fort Myers, Fla., to take on the FGCU Eagles at 4 p.m.
The Jacks got another balanced offensive attack with at least four players scoring in double figures for the ninth time this season, but 20 SDSU turnovers resulted in 23 Red Raider points, compared to five SDSU points from nine Texas Tech turnovers.
Despite the miscues, and an early 13 point deficit, the Jacks rallied back to take a 38-36 lead at halftime behind 14 first half points from Reed Tellinghuisen, but he got into foul trouble in the second half and the Red Raiders got favorable results from a full court press to regain the lead and then put the game away with an 11-0 second half run.
THE OPPONENT
FGCU EAGLES (6-4, 5-1 Home): Picked to finish second in both the A-Sun coaches and media preseason polls, the Eagles look to build on last year's 22-11 season that ended with a 75-69 home loss to Texas A&M Corpus Christi in the first round of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament.
THE SERIES vs. FGCU
The Eagles won the first and only meeting, 71-58, on Nov. 30, 2014 in both team's first-ever game in the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls.
