Previewing the Game
South Dakota State travels to Fort Wayne, Indiana Saturday for its regular season finale after securing the No. 1 seed in the Summit League Championships and the regular season title its last time out. Tipoff against Fort Wayne is set for 7 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. CT from Gates Sports Center.

The Jackrabbits (24-6, 12-1 Summit League) have won seven straight entering the weekend after taking down rival South Dakota on Thursday, 76-72.

Fort Wayne (18-12, 7-6 Summit League) has won its last two to climb into a tie for third in The Summit League standings alongside Denver, with wins in three of its last five games. The Mastodons have had the week off after an 84-72 win at North Dakota State on Saturday, Feb. 17.

SDSU holds a 17-12 lead in the all-time series with Fort Wayne and has claimed four of the last five matchups, including a 78-76 victory earlier this season in Brookings. Five Jackrabbits reached double figures in that game, led by Mike Daum's 23-point, 14-rebound double-double.

Summit League Championships Outlook
South Dakota State has locked up the No. 1 seed in next week's Summit League Championships in Sioux Falls, and will face either North Dakota State, Omaha or Western Illinois in the Summit League quarterfinals on March 3 after official seeding is determined following Saturday's games.

The Jackrabbits have been the top seed twice in its Summit League history and holds a 5-1 record in the tournament as the No. 1 seed. The Jacks have reached the championship game the previous two times (2012-13 and 2014-15) and won the 2013 league title to reach their second NCAA Tournament.

About South Dakota State
The Jackrabbits wrapped up a perfect home record last Thursday and have won 20 straight inside Frost Arena, the nation's longest active home winning streak.

The Summit League Preseason Player of the Year Mike Daum is the nation's top returning scorer and has picked up where he left off in 2016-17, averaging a double-double of 23.4 points and 10.0 rebounds per contest. He has 17 double-doubles on the campaign (including 11 in 13 Summit League games) and has reached double figures in all but one contest, including 10 30-point performances.

Daum has been named the Summit League's Player of the Week six times, and was named the Summit League's Athlete of the Month for November and December.

He joined the 2,000-point club on Feb. 1, and is seventh nationally in scoring average.

In league play, the Kimball, Nebraska native is averaging a double-double of 25.6 points and 12.5 rebounds per contest while shooting 45.2 percent from the field and 89.8 (88-for-98) percent at the charity stripe.

David Jenkins Jr. has made his presence known in his first season at the collegiate level, sitting second on the team with 15.9 points per game and 24 double figure scoring performances. He has led the team in scoring four times and is shooting 43.5 percent from the field. Jenkins has reached the 20-point mark in 10 games, including a 31-point performance at Colorado where he drilled seven 3-pointers. He matched that total and sank six 3-pointers at Denver on Feb. 8.

The Tacoma, Washington native leads the Jackrabbits with 75 total 3-pointers this season (ahead of Daum's 73), firing at a clip of 39.5 percent.

Reed Tellinghuisen is third on the team with season averages of 12.1 points and 4.4 rebounds per game while shooting 48.7 percent from the field.

The Sac City, Iowa native is 54-for-138 (39.1 percent) from beyond the arc, and has scored 20 or more in two Summit League games, finishing with 22 at NDSU and 24 against ORU.

Tevin King is putting up 9.5 points per game, just below double figures while grabbing 160 total rebounds (5.3 per contest), second-most on the squad. He has 87 assists and a team-best 56 steals while shooting 52.5 percent from the field. From Chicago, King has scored 10 or more in 16 games this season, and has done it in eight league contests.

SDSU is ninth in NCAA Division I with 84.9 points per game, and the Jackrabbits hold a plus-10.8 scoring margin (26th nationally). State is shooting 47.3 percent as a team, and rank in the top 20 for 3-point makes, attempts and percentage.

Defensively, the Jacks are allowing 74.1 points per game and have held opponents to a 43.2 field goal percentage.

State has outrebounded its opponents 20 times on the season and hold a plus-3.9 rebounding margin, averaging 38.8 boards per game.

About Fort Wayne
Bryson Scott leads the Mastodons with 22.4 points per game and is second in the league, trailing only Mike Daum i scoring average. Scott has started all 30 games and is shooting 45.1 percent from the field with 4.5 rebounds per contest, 82 assists and 63 steals. Scott is top five nationally in free throw attempts (fifth) and makes (third) and is 10th in Division I with 219 made field goals.

Kason Harrell (14.3 ppg) and John Konchar (14.0 ppg) are in double figures as well for Fort Wayne, as Harrell has hit a team-high 84 3-pointers (out of 226 attempts) while dishing 41 assists with 35 steals.

Konchar is playing a team-high 35.4 minutes per contest and has 60 3-pointers. He leads the 'Dons with 8.1 rebounds per game, 140 assists and 79 steals on the year.

Fort Wayne is shooting 45.6 percent as a team and scoring 81.8 points per game and rank in the top 10 nationally in 3-point attempts (840), steals per game (8.5) and steals (256). Defensively, the 'Dons are allowing 75.3 points per game and opponents are shooting 45.8 percent on average.

Jon Coffman is in his fifth season as head coach of Fort Wayne and holds a 78-50 record.

Daum Reaches 2,000 Points
Mike Daum became just the second Jackrabbit to score over 2,000 points in his career when he reached the mark Feb. 1 against North Dakota State. Daum is the 15th Summit League player to achieve 2,000 points, and ranks among the fastest to do it in the last 20 years.

Additionally, Daum stacks up well against previous Oscar Robertson Trophy and John R. Wooden Award winners over the last 25 years, reaching the 2,000 point mark faster than any previous winner. Daum is currently on the midseason Robertson Trophy Watch List, and was a member of the Wooden Award's preseason list. He can play his way onto the list as the season continues.

Daum On Four Mid/Late Season Watch Lists
Mike Daum has earned a spot on three national award mid/late season watch lists for the 2017-18 season, being named a favorite for the Citizen Naismith Trophy, Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year, Oscar Robertson Player of the Year and Lou Henson Mid-major Player of the Year awards.

Mike Daum was among 30 members of the 50th Citizen Naismith Trophy late season team, announced Wednesday by The Atlanta Tipoff Club. The award highlights the 2018 Men's Player of the Year as selected by the organization. The list will be cut to 10 on Feb. 28, and only those listed will be eligible for the group of four finalists released mid-March. Fans will be a part of the voting process and can cast their ballot at naismithtrophy.com/vote between March 19-30. The 50th Citizen Naismith Trophy will be awarded on April 1 in San Antonio, during the NCAA Men's Final Four.
The U.S. Basketball Writers Association has announced its midseason watch list for the Oscar Robertson Trophy, with Mike Daum listed among 14 NCAA Division I standouts. Daum was also on the preseason list. The award is presented to the national player of the year by its namesake at the NCAA Final Four in San Antonio. Balloting for the USBWA's All-America Team, All-District Teams and the association's individual awards will take place in March. The Oscar Robertson Trophy will be presented at a news conference on Friday, March 30, at the Final Four in San Antonio.
South Dakota State's Mike Daum was one of 40 players listed on the 2017-18 Lou Henson Award midseason Watch List, announced Jan. 11. The Lou Henson Award is presented annually to the nation's top Division I mid-major player. The 2017-18 Lou Henson National Player of the Year Award will be announced on March 31, 2018 at the CollegeInsider.com Awards Event in San Antonio, site of the men's NCAA Basketball Championship.
Released Feb. 6, Mike Daum was among 10 players on the 2018 Karl Malone Award midseason Watch List. In March, five finalists will be presented to Mr. Malone and the Hall of Fame's selection committee for the 2018 Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year Award. The winner will be honored at ESPN's College Basketball Awards presented by Wendy's in downtown Los Angeles on Friday, April 6, 2018.

Jenkins Honored by Summit League
South Dakota State's David Jenkins Jr. has been named the Summit League's Player of the Week, announced Jan. 22.

Jenkins led all scorers with 27 points in SDSU's 98-70 win at Western Illinois, shooting 69.2 percent (9-for-13) from the field with four 3-pointers and a 5-for-5 effort at the charity stripe. He added six boards and an assist over 30 minutes.

It was the seventh 20-point game of the season for the Tacoma, Washington native, who is sixth nationally in total points among all NCAA Division I freshman.

Jenkins' recognition continued a hot streak for the Jackrabbits in weekly awards, as a South Dakota State student-athlete had claimed the award three weeks in a row and in five of the last six announcements at that point.

Daum Named December Athlete of the Month
Mike Daum was named the Summit League's December Male Athlete of the Month, announced Jan. 9.

Daum, who was also the November honoree, averaged 23.4 points and 7.9 rebounds per game in that span, shooting 51.5 percent from the field. Beyond the arc, he hit 22-of-45 attempts and at the charity stripe buried 29 of his 37 free throws.

The junior was a two-time Player of the Week selection in the month and reached double figures in seven of eight starts. He had three double-doubles in the month and five games with 20 or more points, including a trio of 30-point efforts. The Kimball, Nebraska native shot over 50 percent in the final six games, including a 5-for-7 (71.4 percent) game at UMKC.

He is the first men's basketball player to receive the award in consecutive months since Wolters in 2013.

Flatten Granted Sixth Year by NCAA
South Dakota State's Skyler Flatten was granted a sixth-year of eligibility Friday from the NCAA. Flatten, who entered the 2017-18 season as a senior, is now eligible to return to the Jackrabbit basketball program for the 2018-19 season.

Flatten, who missed all of 2015-16 due to injury, has appeared in 88 games for the Jackrabbits, averaging 5.1 points and 2.0 rebounds per game for his career.

This season, the Clark, South Dakota native is posting a career-high 6.9 points and 3.2 rebounds per game, starting 25 of 30 contests. He is shooting 50.3 percent from the field and leads The Summit League with a 51.6 3-point field goal percentage, hitting 48-of-93.

Daum Racks Up Weekly Honors
Mike Daum earned his fourth Summit League Player of the Week nod of the season Jan. 8. Daum is an eight-time Summit League Player of the Week for his career, the fourth-most all-time in league history.

Feb. 5 -- Averaged a double-double of 33 points and 15.5 rebounds over two wins. Shot over 47 percent from the field and went 11-for-13 at the line. Posted a monster 35-point, 18-rebound double-double against Omaha Tuesday while resetting his career-high in field goals (15). Followed with 31 points and 13 rebounds against North Dakota State as he scored his 2,000th career point in the win.
Jan. 16 -- Averaged a double-double over two wins with 30.5 points and 10 rebounds per contest. The junior shot 55.9 percent from the field, hit 8-of-13 from deep and buried 15 of his 16 free throw attempts. Scored 27 with 12 rebounds against Oral Roberts and had 34 points with eight boards against Denver.
Jan. 8 -- Averaged a double-double of 32 points and 13 rebounds over two wins last week, shooting 51.3 percent from the field while going 22-for-22 at the charity stripe. He started the week with a 37-point, 15-rebound performance at North Dakota State, hitting 10 field goals while going a perfect 16-for-16 on free throws. He followed with his 19th career double-double on Saturday, dropping 27 points with 11 rebounds at Omaha while pushing his consecutive free throw streak to 22.
Dec. 26 -- Averaged a double-double over two starts, putting up 23.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game alongside a 61.3 field goal percentage. Started the week with a 35-point, 14-rebound double-double against Drake on Dec. 19. He matched his career-high of 14 field goals and hit four 3-pointers in the game. Daum added 12 points and seven rebounds at UMKC (Dec. 22), going 5-for-7 from the field.
Dec. 18 -- Averaged a double-double over two starts, with 31 points and 11 rebounds per contests. Scored 37 points with 12 rebounds at Colorado (Dec. 15) and had 25 points with 10 boards against North Dakota (Dec. 12).
Nov. 20 -- Posted double-doubles in both games, averaging 25.5 points and 12.0 rebounds per contest. He shot 50 percent from the field (16 of 32) and hit eight 3-pointers while going 11-for-13 at the charity stripe. Notched his 13th career 30-point game against Alabama State (11/14) to go along with 13 rebounds while adding 21 points and 11 rebounds against Kansas (11/17).

Daum Named November Athlete of the Month
South Dakota State's Mike Daum was selected as the Summit League's November Male Athlete of the Month, announced Dec. 7 by the conference office.

Daum helped the Jacks to a 7-2 record through the opening part of the season and averaged a near-double-double, posting 20.1 points and 8.2 rebounds per game while hitting 22 3-pointers. The Kimball, Nebraska native scored in double figures for all nine contests, including two 30-point performances and five games with 20 or more.

The forward had three consecutive double-doubles from Nov. 12-17, racking up 22 points and 13 rebounds against Mary and 30 points with 13 rebounds against Alabama State before closing the streak with a 21-point, 11-board performance at then-No. 3 Kansas.

Let It Rain
South Dakota State's 3-point offense ranks among the nation's best for the second-straight season, as the team is fifth the nation in 3-pointers made and 17th in attempts for the Feb. 23 stats release. The Jacks are 13th nationally with 10.5 3-pointers per game and 17th with a 40.4 long range shooting percentage.

State's 3-pointers attempted (782) and made (316) are already the second-most in a season single at SDSU. The school records were both set last year: 318 makes and 883 attempts.
Last season, the Jacks had three players that hit 60 or more 3-pointers last season, including two returners in Mike Daum (79) and Reed Tellinghuisen (74). That duo ranked 13th nationally among active returning duos in combined 3-pointers from a year ago. State has four already with 40 or more 3-pointers this year: David Jenkins Jr. (75), Mike Daum (73), Reed Tellinghuisen (54) and Skyler Flatten (48).
Through 30 games last season, SDSU was 280-for-771 beyond the arc. This year, the Jacks are 316-for-782 from long distance.
Nov. 28 saw the Jackrabbits reset the school's Division I record for 3-pointers made and attempted in a game for the third (makes) and fourth (attempts) time, going 18-for-41 beyond the arc.
Since the arrival of T.J. Otzelberger, the Jacks now hold all of the top five spots in the record book for 3-pointers made in a Division I game, and hold all but one of the spots in the top five of attempts.
The Otzelberger-led Jackrabbits have hit 14 or more 3-pointers in 11 games over the last two seasons, and prior to his arrival a State team had hit 14 or more 3-pointers in just six games.
Through the first 12 seasons of Division I basketball (starting in the first transition year of 2003-04), SDSU had 71 games of 10 or more 3-pointers, with a max of 13 in one season (2010-13). The Jackrabbits did it 13 times last year and this season has already hit 10 or more 3-pointers in 18 games.
Under T.J., the Jackrabbits have attempted 30 or more 3-pointers in a game 13 times. The Pre-Otzelberger era Jackrabbit teams did it on 11 total occasions since the adoption of the 3-point line in 1986. It happened three times at the Division I level and eight times between 2003-04 and 2015-16, the last season Scott Nagy led the program.
SDSU is one of six Division I teams to have seven or more players with 10-plus 3-pointers on the year, joining TCU, Creighton, Holy Cross, UTSA and Louisville

Jenkins Jr. Named National Freshman of the Week
CBS Sports and the U.S. Basketball Writers Association have named South Dakota State's David Jenkins Jr. as the National Freshman of the Week, announced Dec. 19 on CBSSports.com.

Jenkins averaged 23 points, four 3-pointers, four rebounds and 1.5 steals per game last week, shooting 47.2 percent from the field with an 8-for-17 effort from long range.

He made the most of his first career start against North Dakota on Dec. 12, playing 29 minutes with 15 points and a career-high seven rebounds in a 99-63 Jackrabbit victory.

The 6-2 guard continued his hot play against Colorado last Friday, breaking the school's Division I freshman single-game scoring mark with 31 while burying seven 3-pointers, tied for fourth-most in a Division I game at SDSU. He teamed with Mike Daum to become the first duo in the school's Division I history to each have 30 or more points in the same game.

Tacoma Talent
Tacoma, Washington native David Jenkins Jr. has burst on the scene through his first season of collegiate basketball, racking up 477 points and 75 3-pointers through 30 games. He has hit at least two 3-pointers in 21 contests and on Dec. 15 at Colorado set the school's freshman single-game scoring record at the Division I level with 31. He matched that Feb. 8 at Colorado.

Jenkins is 10 3-pointers shy of the Jackrabbit season record for 3-pointers made (he currently sits tied for seventh), and his 190 attempts on the year also tied for seventh most in school history for a season.

The lone West coach native on the Jackrabbit roster has reached double figures in 24 games, becoming the first freshman to accomplish the feat at SDSU since Steve Holdren did it in 16 of his first 23 appearances in 2004-05. Holdren finished the season with 19 double-figure performances over 26 games that year.

Jenkins and Holdren are also the only two Jackrabbit freshmen to lead the team in scoring in their first collegiate game over the last 17 years (dating back to 2000-01 when game-by-game stats were readily available).

Jenkins is second on the team with 15.9 points per game in 2017-18, shooting 43.5 percent from the field and 39.5 percent from long distance.

He was named the National Freshman of the Week by CBS Sports and the U.S. Basketball Writers Association Dec. 19 after averaging 23 points, four 3-pointers, four rebounds and 1.5 steals per game over two games that week.

He is on pace to challenge Mike Daum's freshman scoring record of 518 points, set in 2015-16. Jenkins has 477 points through 30 games, compared to Daum's 443 points in that span.

Fellow Tacoma native Isaiah Thomas, currently with the Cleveland Cavaliers, had 471 points and 26 double figure games through 30 games of his freshman year at Washington.

Jenkins scored over 2,000 points in his high school career before spending a year at Sunrise Christian Academy Prep School. He was named as a newcomer to watch in The Summit League by TheAthletic.com's John Rohde.

As of Feb. 23 Jenkins sits sixth among Division I freshmen this season in total points.

Daum, Tellinghuisen Continue Rise on Scoring Chart
Mike Daum rose to No. 3 on the Jackrabbit scoring chart in just 88 career games (Jan. 6, 2018) and took over the second spot in 93 career games (Jan. 27, 2018). He broke the 2,000-point barrier on Feb. 1, 2018 and is 266 shy of Nate Wolters (2,363; 2009-13) for the top spot.

Reed Tellinghuisen joined the top 25 in all-time scoring Dec. 12, and is currently 15th with 1,381 career points. He is less than 50 points from the top 10 after joining the 1,000 points club in The Summit League Tournament last season.

#FearFrost
The Jacks own an 89-5 record at Frost Arena over the last six seasons dating back to 2011-12, which includes perfect home records in four of the last five years entering the current season. That span includes two home winning streaks of 30 or more games.

The Jackrabbits' current 20-game home winning streak ranks as the nation's longest active streak in Division I as of Feb. 19, 2018 after losses from Cincinnati and Vermont last weekend. The Jacks have held the nation's longest active home winning streak twice in the last five years.
Since 2011-12, South Dakota State has won 94.6 percent of its home games, a mark that ranks second among all Division I programs.
South Dakota State won 34 consecutive games from Jan. 30, 2014 to Dec. 28, 2016. It ended as the nation's second longest active streak.
The Jackrabbits won 30 consecutive home games from Jan. 29, 2011 to Nov. 14, 2013.
SDSU put together undefeated seasons inside Frost Arena the following years: 1984-85 (18-0), 2002-03 (17-0), 2011-12 (14-0), 2012-13 (13-0), 2014-15 (13-0), 2015-16 (12-0) and this season, going 15-0 at home.
South Dakota State has won 28 consecutive home nonconference games inside Frost Arena. That mark ranks eighth nationally.

Dynamic Duo
Teammates Mike Daum and Reed Tellinghuisen are back after leading the team in scoring a year ago, and rank among the nation's best as a scoring duo with over 3,400 points between them in their careers. The Jacks are third in total career points as a pair as of Feb. 23, 2018.

Team Quick Hits

Reed Tellinghuisen holds the school record for career starts (122) and has played in third-most games (134) among active players in NCAA Division I.South Dakota State is 10-0 when holding opponents under 70 points this season, while posting a 22-2 record when breaking the 70-point barrier on the offensive end.
Mike Daum and David Jenkins Jr. became the first Jackrabbit duo in Division I to score 30 or more points in the same game when the pair went for 37 and 31, respectively at Colorado Dec. 15.
South Dakota State has scored 100 or more four times this season. Prior to the Jackrabbits' 103-67 win over Concordia (Neb.), the previous 100-point game for SDSU was Feb. 28, 2013. The last time SDSU had two or more 100-point games in a season was 2011-12, when the Jackrabbits did it twice. The Division I program record for 100-point games in a season is five, set in 2004-05 and the overall program record is six, set in 1997-98, 1991-92 and 1968-69.
The Jackrabbits have passed the 90-point mark 11 times this season and have scored 80 or more in 21 games.
The Jacks are 18-2 when winning the rebounding battle and 6-4 when being out-rebounded or tied on the boards. Twice this year the Jacks have posted a plus-20 rebounding margin. SDSU was 16-1 when outrebounding its opponent last year and 2-16 in games with the same or fewer rebounds.
Seven Jackrabbits reached double figures at Western Illinois on Jan. 20 for the first time since Nov. 18, 2012 when SDSU did it against the District of Columbia.

At least one Jackrabbit has scored in double figures over the last 338 games dating back to Jan. 12, 2008 at IUPUI when Anthony Cordova had nine points to lead the Jacks.
From Jan. 31, 2009 through the 2013-14 season, SDSU put together a streak of 179 games with at least one 1,000 point scorer on the floor. SDSU snapped a streak of 90 games without a 1,000 point scorer when Mike Daum joined the club on Jan. 21, 2017. Jacks up to Sixth in Mid-Major Top 25
The Jackrabbits moved up one spot to No. 6 in the latest College Sports Madness Mid-Major poll, released Feb. 19 by the organization.

The Jackrabbits were seventh the last two weeks, and has been in the op 10 the last seven weeks and ranked in the poll in 15 of 16 versions this season.

The latest edition of the poll features 2017-18 opponents South Dakota (No. 3) and Buffalo (No. 12).

Tough Tests
South Dakota State played five Power Five (ACC, SEC, Big 12, Big 10, Pac-12) opponents this season and has two wins those games.

The Jackrabbits knocked off Ole Miss (Nov. 28) in overtime after a win over Iowa (Nov. 21) at the Cayman Islands Classic.

SDSU also faced Kansas (Nov. 17) and Colorado (Dec. 15) in addition to a road matchup at then-No. 6 Wichita State (a member of the American Athletic Conference), with narrow losses against the Shockers and Buffaloes. At WSU, the Jacks led for over 28 minutes of game action, but a late charge helped the Shockers defend their home court. SDSU charged back from an early deficit in Colorado to force overtime, but could not pull off the comeback in a double overtime affair that saw
SDSU play just eight Jackrabbits in 50 minutes of game action.

South Dakota State has seven wins over Power Five programs since joining The Summit League in 2007, picking up wins over Iowa State (2008), Iowa (2010 and 2017), Washington (2011), TCU (2015), Minnesota (2015) and Ole Miss (2017).

SDSU's wins over Iowa and Ole Miss this season came in the shortest time frame of any Summit League team since 1998 (seven days). The Jackrabbits are the fifth league team to post a win over separate Power Five conferences in the same regular season, and the first to do it since 2009.

Against Power Five opponents in his career, Mike Daum is averaging 17.6 points and 7.2 rebounds per game and shooting 44 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from deep.

Daum Named to Preseason Award Watch Lists
Mike Daum has earned a spot on four national award watch lists for the 2017-18 season, being named a preseason favorite for the Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year, Oscar Robertson Player of the Year, Lute Olson Player of the Year and John R. Wooden® awards.

The John R. Wooden® presented by Wendy's® listed Mike Daum among its 50 preseason favorites for the award, released Nov. 14 on ESPN's SportsCenter and on ESPN.com. Chosen by a preseason poll of national college basketball experts. The Wooden Award All American Team will be announced the week of the "Elite Eight" round of the NCAA Tournament. The winner of the 2018 John R. Wooden Award will be presented during the ESPN College Basketball Awards presented by Wendy's on Friday, April 6, 2018.
The Karl Malone Award is presented by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Named after Hall of Famer and two-time NBA Most Valuable Player Karl Malone, the annual honor in its fourth year recognizes the top power forwards in Division I men's college basketball. By mid-February, the watch list of 20 players for the 2018 Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year Award will be narrowed to just 10. In March, five finalists will be presented to Mr. Malone and the Hall of Fame's selection committee. The winner of the 2018 Karl Malone Award will be presented at the ESPN College Basketball Awards Show presented by Wendy's in Los Angeles, CA on Friday, April 6, 2018.
Daum was selected as one of 32 players on the 2017-18 Oscar Robertson Trophy Preseason Watch List, announced Nov. 6 by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association. The award is presented to the national player of the year by its namesake at the NCAA Final Four in San Antonio. In mid-March, the USBWA will announce its 2017-18 All-America Team and, at that time, finalists will also be chosen for the player of the year. Once finalists are announced, the entire USBWA membership will vote for the winner of the Oscar Robertson Trophy.
He was announced as one of 40 selections on the CollegeInsider.com Lute Olson Award Watch List Nov. 6 as well. The Lute Olson Award is presented annually to the nation's top Division I player who has played at least two seasons. The 2017-18 Lute Olson National Player of the Year Award will be announced on March 31, 2018 at the CollegeInsider.com Awards Event in San Antonio, site of the men's NCAA Basketball Championship.

SDSU Signs Three
Owen King, Aaron Fiegen and Matthew Mimms signed their National Letters of Intent to join South Dakota State, announced Nov. 11 on National Signing Day.

King (Caledonia, Minnesota) averaged 19 points, five rebounds and six assists per game as a junior for Caledonia High School. He enters his senior season as the school's all-time leading scorer (1,925 points) and in December was named Minnesota's Associated Press High School Football Player of the Year.
Fiegen (Madison, South Dakota) was a First Team All-State pick last year, averaging 15.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game in 2016-17.
Mimms (Fairfax, Iowa) is a two-time Iowa State Champion with Xavier High School. He averaged 15.5 points, five assists and 2.3 steals per game as a junior.

Preseason All-Conference Team; Jacks Picked First
Mike Daum and Reed Tellinghuisen made repeat appearances on the Summit League's Preseason All-League teams, announced early-October. Daum was the Preseason Player of the Year with First Team honors while Tellinghuisen picked a Second Team nod for the second straight season.

Daum is the second Jackrabbit to be named Preseason All-Conference and the first to do it twice, joining Nate Wolters (2012-13).

As a team, South Dakota State was picked to win the league for the fourth time in program history.

SDSU Last Time Out (Feb. 22, 2018)
Four Jackrabbits reached double figures and South Dakota State claimed its first-ever outright Summit League Regular Season Championship Thursday night at Frost Arena in a 76-72 victory over rival South Dakota.

Playing in front of 4,138 fans in their regular season home finale, the Jacks (24-6, 12-1 Summit League) locked up the No. 1 seed in next month's Summit League Championships in Sioux Falls and pushed their win streak to seven games.

SDSU shot 44.3 percent as a team and hit 10 3-pointers, outdoing the Coyotes on the boards, 42-31, in the latest round of the South Dakota Corn Showdown Series.

Mike Daum led the way with a 20-point, 12-rebound double-double while David Jenkins Jr. was close behind in the scoring column, dropping 18 with three 3-pointers.

Lane Severyn had a career-best performance on senior night, finishing with 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting (including four 3-pointers) with eight rebounds.

Reed Tellinghuisen scored 13 points and had eight boards.

Tevin King logged 34 minutes and dished a team-high seven assists, finishing second on the squad with nine rebounds.

Down 6-5 early, consecutive 3-pointers from Daum and Severyn sparked the Jacks on an spurt of 11 straight that turned into a 16-3 overall run, giving State a 22-9 lead at the under-12 media.

The Jacks cooled off from there, and though USD cut it to four (34-30) inside the final minute on an 11-1 run, a Daum 3-pointer and a Jenkins buzzer-beater from deep sent the Jacks to the locker room with a 40-30 advantage.

South Dakota State built its lead to a game-high 16 (51-35) just past the 14-minute mark of the second half, only to see USD respond over the next six minutes to tie it, 53-all at 8:48 to set up a wild finish.

Down 58-55 with 7:48 to play, State rediscovered its rhythm from the field and hit six of its next seven shots, outscoring the Coyotes by 11 over the next six minutes to take back the lead, 71-63 with 1:49 left.

After USD cut it to two (71-69) inside the final minute, Tellinghuisen pushed State's lead back to four (73-69) with two free throws at 22 seconds, and hit another from the charity stripe with 9.7 seconds remaining.

Ahead 74-69 at that point, the rest of the game took over 17 minutes to complete due to multiple fouls, timeouts and official reviews. The 'Yotes brought it back within two (74-72) in that span, but Jenkins swished a pair of free throws with one second left to seal it as the final USD shot fell short.

FARGO, N.D. – Fort Wayne men's basketball never trailed in an 84-72 road victory at North Dakota State on Saturday (Feb. 17) afternoon. The win is Fort Wayne's first at North Dakota State since 2011.

Bryson Scott entered Saturday's game needing 17 points to set the new program record for single-season points. He got exactly 17. The record breaking basket came on a steal and a layup with 6:59 remaining in the game. It gave Scott 673 points this season, passing Bruce Roland's 672 points in 1987-88.

Scott was one of four Mastodons in double-digits. Kason Harrell scored 24 points, tying a career high with six 3-pointers.

John Konchar totaled 16 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. Jax Levitch added 10 points, five rebounds and a pair of steals.

The 'Dons made their first three 3-point attempts of the game and opened a lead as large as 12 points in the first half. Konchar connected on his first four shots and finished the first half with 11 points, seven rebounds and six assists.

Fort Wayne was 14-of-31 from long range in the game. The biggest 3-pointer came with 4:22 remaining. NDSU had just advanced within a possession at 67-64 following a four-point play by Jared Samuelson. But then Matt Weir drained a 3-pointer to start an 8-0 Fort Wayne run to ice the game.

The visiting 'Dons finished 28-of-59 (47.5 percent). The Bison shot 45.6 percent (26-of-57).

NDSU falls to 14-15 (4-8 Summit League). Fort Wayne improves to 18-12 (7-6 Summit League).
