The South Dakota State equestrian team finished its final two meets of the regular season Saturday, falling to No. 6 Oklahoma State, 11-5 and Delaware State, 10-9.
 
"While this weekend didn't end with the outcome we were looking for, we had some very deserving rides as well as several career highs and I could not be more pleased with the way the Jacks rode against both opponents," head coach 
Ellie Wilkins said.
The Jacks close out the regular season with a 1-7 record.
 
Oklahoma State Meet
After finishing up Friday in a 4-4 tie at the halfway mark against OSU, the Jackrabbits fell in Equitation on the Flat and Reining to drop the meet, 11-5. 
Cassidy Gardiner scored a career-high 68 in her ride in reining, and 
Catelyn Hall earned a point with her score of 70.5 in the same event.
 
Delaware State Meet
SDSU opened its meet against DSU with a 2-2 tie in Horsemanship. 
Kodi O'Boyle earned a point in her ride with a career-high 75.5. 
Whitney Vesey (73) tallied the other point for State and 
Jadyn Taylor's 70 resulted in a tie with her opponent to keep things even through the first event.
 
The Jacks pulled ahead to 5-4 after taking Equitation on the Flat 3-2 behind a career-high ride of 86 by 
Alexa Maiello. 
Matilyn Skinner (78) and 
Claire Garduno (72) garnered the other two points in the event.
 
Jordan Gates (63.5) and 
Rylee Streit (60) each tallied points in Reining, but the Jacks fell 3-2 in the event. Freshman Shaina Rasmusson made her debut with the team, scoring a 64 in her first ride as a Jackrabbit.
 
Maiello scored a career-high 85 in Equitation over Fences, but it was Garduno (79) and 
Jessica Martinez (82) who earned points for the Jacks in the event. The Jacks lost a close final event 3-2 to ultimately drop the meet 10-9.
 
The Jackrabbits are now 0-5 all-time against OSU and 5-5 against DSU.

The Jacks will begin postseason action with the UEC Championships March 22-23 in Martin, Tenn.
