BOULDER CITY, Nev. - The South Dakota State women's golf team fired a season-best 867 (+3) over three rounds at the Jackrabbit Invitational to finish in third place. The Jackrabbit squad was led by a pair of top-10 finishes from
Piper Stubbs and
Shakira-Ann Kuys.
Stubbs placed fourth individually. She put together a steady final round, tallying 15 par holes and two birdies with just one hole over par. The junior turned in a 212 (71-70-71, -4) final scorecard.
Kuys finished in a tie for 10th place. She posted a 216 (72-69-75, E) tally on the week.
McKenzie Mages tied for 17th place with a 220 (+4) and
Reese Jansa finished in a tie for 20th (221, +5).
Alex Kandolin, the final team member, was tied for 40th place (226, +10).
Molly O'Hara and
Tatum Depuydt competed as individuals. O'Hara ended up in a tie for 29th place (224, +8) and Depuydt matched Kandolin's score for a 40th place finish.
Led by runner-up individual Carly Strole, Grand Canyon won the team trophy at 17-under-par. The were the only team to finish under par. Anna Dawson led all players at 8-under for medalist honors.
