South Dakota State hosts Murray State Tuesday night at First Bank & Trust Arena in the Jackrabbits' last home game until December 3.

The Jackrabbits are 2-0 on the year with wins at Creighton (78-62) and at home against Rice (79-65). Brooklyn Meyer averaged 27.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.5 blocks and 3.0 assists over the first two games to pace SDSU. Last season, SDSU went 30-4 overall and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, where the Jacks fell to eventual-champion UConn.

Murray State opened the season with a win over Southern Indiana on a buzzer beater Friday night. Halli Poock was the Racers' offensive leader with 22 points, including a 13-for-13 showing at the free throw line. Sharnecce Currie-Jelks posted a 15-point, 14-rebound double-double. MSU is coming off of arguably the best season in program history in 2024-25 after setting a program record 25 wins and securing both the Missouri Valley Conference regular season and tournament titles en route to the program's first NCAA tournament appearance since 2008.

KEY STORYLINES

South Dakota State went 2-0 during the opening week of action with a road win over Creighton and home win against Rice.
Brooklyn Meyer averaged 27.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.5 blocks and 3.0 assists per game while shooting 59 percent over the first two games. Meyer's scoring average ranks sixth in the country and her block average is second.
Underclass guards Katie Vasecka (14), Emilee Fox (13) and Mahli Abdouch (12) each put up double-digit scoring totals against the Owls and had zero turnovers between them. Fox and Abdouch's scoring marks were career highs.
Maggie Hartwig tallied double-digit rebounds in both games last week and averages 13.0 per game so far, which is 15th in the nation.
As a team, SDSU averages 36.0 defensive rebounds per game, which ranks sixth in the country.
SDSU entered 2025-26 with nine returners from last season's NCAA Tournament team, including All-America honorable mention Brooklyn Meyer.
Brooklyn Meyer was named to the preseason watch lists for the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award and the Lisa Leslie Center of the Year Award. She is also the Summit League's preseason player of the year.
SDSU had four players named to the Summit League's preseason teams. Brooklyn Meyer and Madison Mathiowetz were first-team honorees while Katie Vasecka and Maggie Hartwig landed on the second team.
Three returning SDSU players averaged at least eight points per game a season ago. Brooklyn Meyer scored 17.0 points per contest to go with 5.9 rebounds. Madison Mathiowetz and Katie Vasecka contributed 8.9 and 8.4 points per game, respectively.
