BOULDER CITY, Nev. - The South Dakota State women's golf team is in first place following the first two rounds of the Spring Jackrabbit Invitational, which were played Monday at Boulder Creek Golf Club.
McKenzie Mages fired a 66 on her opening lap and is in a four-way tie for first place.
The Jacks are +5 as a team, one shot better than St. Thomas in second place.
Mages' 66 first round matches the second best single round in program history. Alex Kandollin posted a 66 last season while Teresa Toscana owns the Jackrabbit record with a 64 during the 2020-21 season.
Mages is 2-under through 36 holes, which is tied with teammate
Piper Stubbs and two others. Stubbs' second round was a 68, the best single round of her collegiate career.
Molly O'Hara and
Reese Jansa round out the team scorers with matching +5 scorecards and are tied for 24th place.
Shakira-Ann Kuys is +9 and tied for 42nd place.
Tatum Depuydt and
Anna Hjartardottir are competing individually this week. Depuydt is tied for 19th place (+4) and Hjartardottir is tied for 76th (+19).
UP NEXT
The Jackrabbits return to the course Tuesday for the final round of their home tournament.
