MORGAN WINS U20 GRECO US OPEN

LAS VEGAS - South Dakota State wrestler Quin Morgan took home the championship at 97 kg in the U20 Greco-Roman bracket and placed fourth in the U20 Freestyle bracket over the weekend.
Morgan, a native of Arden Hills, Minn., started his weekend off in the Greco-Roman bracket on Thursday. Morgan started his run off by scoring a technical fall in his opening match and following it with a fall in his second round matchup in just 49 seconds. Morgan took care of business in his semi-final matchup, scoring another technical fall, 8-0. In the championship against Cittadino Tuttle, Morgan wasted no time picking up the fall in just 31 seconds, to claim the U20 97 kg title in Greco-Roman wrestling.
Morgan will have an opportunity to compete for a spot on the U20 World Team at the U20 World Team Trial in May.
Morgan also placed fourth in the Freestyle bracket, racking up three technical falls and a pin on his way to a 4-2 freestyle record.
In other action, Brady Roark competed at 57 kg in the senior freestyle bracket. Roark scored three tech fall wins on his way to a 3-2 record and a seventh-place finish at 57 kg.
Riggin Boger also competed in the U20 Greco-Roman division, where he put together a 4-2 record with three tech falls and a decision win on Thursday, placing fifth at 77 kg.
In all, nine members of the SDSU wrestling team, plus three incoming recruits, competed in the freestyle or Greco-Roman division of the 2025 U.S. Open. All 12 current or future Jackrabbits picked up a win during the competition, with Marcus Espinoza-Owens going 5-2 and true freshmen Logan Swensen and Tyson Peach going 4-2.
Incoming freshman Keenan Sheridan also went 4-2 in the freestyle division at 79 kg throughout the weekend.
