12 JACKRABBITS EARN ACADEMIC ALL-BIG 12 HONORS

IRVING, Texas — 12 members of the South Dakota State wrestling team, including four of their NCAA Qualifiers, were honored Tuesday as members of the 2025 Winter Academic All-Big 12 Team.
SDSU's 12 honorees were highlighted by two-time All-American Cade DeVos and Caleb Gross, who both received Academic All-Big 12 honors for the fifth time in their collegiate careers.
Daniel Kimball received Academic All-Big 12 for the fourth time in his career, while Derrick Cardinal received Academic All-Big 12 honors for the third time in his collegiate career. Bennett Berge, Brock Fettig and Luke Rasumssen were honored for the second year in a row, while Cody Donnelly picked up the second Academic All-Big 12 honor of his career.
Redshirt freshman Tommy Dineen, Moses and Marcus Espinoza-Owens and Jared Thiry were all honored for the first time in their collegiate careers.
To qualify for the team, student-athletes must maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher either cumulatively or during the two previous semesters, and must have participated in 20 percent of their team's scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except for participation are also eligible.
