Ninth-ranked UC Davis held the advantage in the jumping seat events to edge 10^th-ranked South Dakota State, 10-9, in an ECAC equestrian head-to-head competition Saturday at the DeHaan Equestrian Center.

The Aggies remained perfect against ECAC opponents, improving to 5-0 in that category and 6-7 overall. SDSU dropped to 4-6 overall and 4-3 in the ECAC.

UC Davis jumped out to a 4-1 lead in fences. Isabelle Malick posted the first point of the matchup in favor of the Jackrabbits with an 82-78 victory over Carmen Gonzalez on Archie. However, UC Davis swept the remaining four points, led by an 84-80 victory by Most Outstanding Performer Anna Donovan versus the Jackrabbits' Heidi White.

SDSU earned six of the nine points awarded in the Western events to pull even at 7-all entering the final event. The Jackrabbits received scoring rides from Avery Bergan (73.5), Anna Minich (72.5) and MOP Grace Gerbus (74.5) in horsemanship, while Adisyn Kuxhaus (69.5), Hailey Hanson (70), Lillie Wallis (69) picked up points in reining. Emma Riggs tied the Aggies' Mya Clader with a score of 68.

Kuxhaus earned reining MOP honors for the second competition in a row and third time this season.

Ultimately, the Aggies would come out on top with a 3-2 advantage in flat. SDSU picked up the first point in the category when Juliana Gullo posted a 72-63 victory over Cavan Smith on Annie. UC Davis would claim points in each of the next three matchups, highlighted by an 80-point ride from MOP Lauren Kolbe, to secure the victory.

Malick recorded her second win of the day with a 78-75 victory over Gonzalez on Mack.

UP NEXT
The Jackrabbits close out the regular season with competitions Mar. 6 and 7 in Blythewood, South Carolina. SDSU will open the weekend against Delaware State, followed by a matchup against second-ranked South Carolina.
