Austin Buysse joined the Jackrabbit athletic staff in August of 2019 as Athletic Facilities and Event Manager.
He oversees the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex and Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium to ensure events run smoothly, playing a major role in both football and track and field events. This includes the set up and tear down before and after events, while also handling the day-to-day upkeep and rental of the facilities.
Prior to South Dakota State, Buysse served as a Sports Information Graduate Assistant at Dakota Wesleyan University for the 2018-19 season. Before that he was a Radio Announcer at KMIT, providing color commentary for local high school basketball games around the Mitchell, S.D. area for nearly five years.
Buysse is a native of Minneota, Minn. and was a four-year member of the Dakota Wesleyan football team while he completed his bachelor’s degree. A year later he earned his master’s degree from DWU in Education Policy and Administration.
