Truman Osborn joined South Dakota State's athletic communications staff as a Graduate Assistant in July of 2024, before being promoted to Assistant Director of Communications in June of 2026. He serves as the primary contact for SDSU volleyball, wrestling and women's golf.
Osborn joined the SDSU staff after completing his undergraduate degree at Iowa State. At Iowa State, he worked in the athletic communications department, first as a volunteer student worker and later as a communications assistant and the primary contact for the Iowa State tennis team. As the primary contact for the tennis team he oversaw media relations, team social media accounts and was the primary statistician for the team.
In addition to working at Iowa State, Osborn was part of the media relations volunteer team at the 2023 Big 12 Men's Basketball Tournament in Kansas City, Mo. There, he worked compiling game notes, running stats, working as a media liaison and moderating press conferences.
Osborn holds a bachelor's degree in public relations from Iowa State University, graduating in May 2024, and a master's degree in mass communications from SDSU, graduating in 2026. A native of Sioux City, Osborn lives in Brookings with his wife, Sarah.
