The Jacks fell for the second time this weekend in double overtime as IPFW left Fishback Soccer Park with a 3-2 victory over the SDSU women's soccer team on a chilly Sunday afternoon.
The win improves IPFW to 4-6-1 overall and 3-1 in the Summit League while SDSU falls to 5-6-1 and 2-2 in the conference.
Lisa Underwood got the Mastodons on the board early and often as she netted goals in the 18th and 27th minute of the game.
SDSU's Kayla Braffet would answer back in the 33rd minute. Her first shot from directly in front of the net was blocked by a IPFW defender, but her second attempt found the back of the net for her fourth goal of the year.
With time ticking away, Christa Nyblom sent a cross to Braffet who headed the ball to Danni Healy for the tying goal in the 84th minute. It was Healy's second goal of the season.
After a scoreless overtime, Tara O'Toole took a pass from Lauren McCracken down the left side of the field and beat SDSU goalkeeper Dani Pappas in the 108th minute low and to the right side of the goal to end the game in the second overtime.
For the second-straight game, SDSU held a huge advantage in shots but couldn't take advantage. The Jacks outshot IPFW 35-9, including 15-6 on-goal.
Pappas took the loss for the Jacks, allowing three goals and making three saves. Kristen McFadden notches the win for the Mastodons, allowing two goals and notching 13 saves.
