If you are going to feel bad after a game like our kids do, I would rather feel the way we feel tonight then feel like some games we've had where we don't have effort. I thought that our effort was good tonight and our kids played hard and physical. I think you just have to give Oakland credit. They were just a little bit tougher and when the game got tight, they made the plays and we didn't.
Free throw misses down the stretch
It's not like you can make every free throw. I think if you look at the free throw percentages of anybody, when games are tight, they tend to go down. Garrett and Kai, there's no one that feels worse than those two. Nobody on our team is upset with them. That's just the way it is sometimes.
Turnover margin
That's the ball game. We had some chances in the first half and the first half is where we blew the game. Probably the last four minutes of the first half, I thought that we had a good chance to stick it to them and they just turned up the pressure and I felt like we melted and were not very tough at that point. You can look at a lot of things, but that four minutes period was probably the worst four minutes period for us.
Confidence coming down the stretch
We've been doing it the whole year against a lot of teams. We put good player on the floor and they put good players on the floor. They are tough, battle tested and tough kids. They were just a little tougher.
Are you hurt by the loss?
It's hurt a lot, but to me, this is what living feel like vs. not giving everything you have and then feeling the pain of regret. It's better to have loved and lost then to have never loved at all. That's what this feels like. We gave it everything we had and poured our hearts into it. We came up empty and it hurts. That's is living and what you are suppose to do.
How are the feet?
They're o.k. A little sore from walking on concrete.
Defending Keith Benson
We didn't do a good enough job on him. We may have to change things up next time we play him. We can't give him 23 points and put him on the line 14 times. There were a couple times where it was way too easy for him and we can't do that. We have to make other people beat us. They go 2-for-14 from three, then we need to make them shoot more threes. That's an adjustment that our coaching staff should have done a better job with.
Being tied for third in the league at the midway point
I don't like being in third place. That's just not what we are playing for. I think most people in the league would not have guessed that we would be here (at 6-3 with five road games). Now the test will be to have beaten two teams and go to there place, because that's when you really have to be tough. They are going to be sitting ready for us. We have not done that since we have been in the league, we have not swept a team and to go into their place and do it is the toughest thing to do.
