BROOKINGS, S.D. -- It was an easy night at the pool for the Jackrabbits on Friday as SDSU won all but two events to beat Iowa Central Community College 130-56 on Parent and Senior night at the HPER Center Pool.
The 200-yard medley relay team of senior Lisa Newberger, freshman Kayce Smith, sophomore Trina Young and junior Andee Budahl started the meet out right with a win in a time of 1:52.43.
Smith posted the top time in the 200-yard freestyle, winning with a 1:59.35.
Mitchell-natives Budahl and Young also had success in their respective individual events. Budahl swam the 100-yard butterfly in a winning time of 1:01.61 while Young took the top spot in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:17.68.
The winning 200-yard freestyle relay featured senior Devonne Dalin, freshman Abby Zenner, juniors Nicole Grimit and Kaylin Caron. The team won in a time of 1:59.46.
Grimit and Dalin each won an individual event as well. Grimit swam the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 25.33 seconds and Dalin posted a time of 26.62 seconds in the 50-yard butterfly.
Freshman Olivia Olesiak was the lone female diver at the meet won with dive scores of 247.35 in the one-meter and 256.95 in the three-meter, which is a personal best for her short career.
Junior Shauna Foor also notched two wins for the Jacks. Foor swam the 50-yard breaststroke in 32.83 seconds and the 100-yard freestyle in 56.37 seconds.
A pair of juniors posted victories in the distance swims. Emma Wright took the top spot in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:59.56 and Kelsey Boucher grabbed the 500-yard freestyle in 5:19.71.
The 100-yard breaststroke was won by freshman Bianca Ninneman in a time of 1:14.81.
The Jacks are back in the HPER Center pool for their final home meet of the season Saturday morning at 11 o'clock against University of North Dakota.
