BROOKINGS, S.D.—Senior Olivia Olesiak broke a pair of school records Friday night, but the South Dakota State women's swimming and diving team lost 194-106 to North Dakota.
Olesiak (Wyoming, Minn.) won both the one-meter and three-meter diving events, breaking her own school records. With 305.71 points on the three-meter, Olesiak qualified for the NCAA Zone D diving championships. On the one-meter, she won with 275.85 points.
Sophomore Katya Vakshteyn (Leawood, Kan.) won the 200 free with a season-best 1:58.10 while senior Kayce Smith (Madison, Wis.) was victorious in the 200 breaststroke with a season-best 2:24.83 and finished second in the 100 (1:06.21). She also placed second in the 200 IM (2:11.76).
North Dakota won 13 of 17 events.
The Jackrabbits return to action Dec. 4-5 at the Jean Freeman Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn.
