The South Dakota State women's swimming and diving team completed day one of the Jean Freeman Invitation on Friday in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The 17-team invitational is hosted by Minnesota.
Kristin Erf broke a school record in the 100 breaststroke, placing first with a time of 1:02.23. Erf also finished second in the 50 freestyle in 23.72.
The team of
Richelle Bruyckere,
Cassie Hendricks,
Jade Goosen and Erf finished third in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:36.71.
Freshman
Daniela Santillan placed eighth in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:11.38 and
Ashley Theobald finished fourth in the 200 IM in 2:07.69.
In the 200 butterfly,
Alexandra Spinner and
Alexandra Yaeger claimed third and fourth place finishes, respectively.
Junior
Emily Moore placed 13th in the 1-meter dive with a score of 188.50.
The Jacks will resume competition on Saturday starting at 10 a.m.
