For the third-straight tournament, the South Dakota State women's golf team will play in a new event. The Jackrabbits compete in the 16
th annual Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown Sunday through Tuesday in Boulder City, Nevada.
The 17-team field will participate in the 54-hole tournament at the par 72, 6,343-yards Boulder Creek Golf Club. Teams play 18 holes each day on the Desert Hawk & Coyote Run courses. The teams have a 2 p.m. shotgun start Sunday and 10 a.m. shotguns starts Monday and Tuesday.
The field includes Summit League member Oral Roberts. Baylor won the event last year, shooting a 25-under par 551. The Lady Bears' Amy Lee was medalist with a nine-under par 135.
The Jackrabbits are coming off a seventh-place finish at the Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate in Colorado. They shot a three-round 882, the second-best 54-hole round in school history. SDSU's 36-hole 590 also ranked sixth all-time.
Sophomore
Teresa Toscano led the Jacks, tying for 15
th with a two-over par 216 (70-76-70) at the par 72, 6,450-yard Highland Ranch Golf Club.
Toscano leads the team and is third in The Summit League with a 72.00 stroke average. In two events, she has three rounds of par or below.
Senior Natacha Srimaneerungroj and sophomore
Sydney Bormann are second and third, respectively on the team with 74.83 and 75.33 stroke averages.
South Dakota State has a 299.0 stroke average, ranking it third in the league behind Denver (288.8) and Oral Roberts (297.2)
