For the first time since joining The Summit League, the South Dakota State women's golf team will play against No. 28 Denver in a regular-season tournament when the Jackrabbits play in the Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate Friday through Sunday in Grove City, Colorado.
The 13-team field will participate in the 54-hole tournament at the par 72, 6,450-yards Highlands Ranch Golf Club. Teams will play 18 holes each day. The teams tee off Friday and Saturday at 9 a.m. and have a shotgun start Sunday.
No. 38 Pepperdine is the defending champion, shooting an 854 (280-290-284) last year. Denver's Sophie Newlove was the individual medalist, firing a six-under par 210.
In her first tournament of the season, sophomore
Teresa Toscano tied for 20
th at the Coeur d'Alene Collegiate Sept. 26-27. She shot a three-over par 216 and tied her own school record for 18 holes with a 68 in the final round. Toscano has a Summit League and team-leading 72.00 stroke average.
Classmate
Sydney Bormann has a top-five finish and a 74.78 stroke average in three tournaments. Senior
Natcha Srimaneerungroj is third on the team with a 75.56 stroke average.
