PHOENIX—In its first spring tournament of the year, the South Dakota State women's golf team finished seventh Sunday at the Grand Canyon Women's Spring Invitational.
The Jackrabbits shot a final round 300 (313-307-300=920) on the par 72, 6,110-yard GCU Golf Course. Portland State won the event, shooting an 887 (296-304-287) while Utah Valley's Carly Dehlin won a playoff (74-73-73=219) for medalist honors.
Cassidy Laidlaw led State by firing a 226 (77-75-74) to tie for 19
th and
Sydney Bormann tied for 23
rd (78-73-77=228).
Teresa Toscano tied for 40
th (77-83-73=233).
Natcha Srimaneerungroj finished 54
th (81-76-79=236) and
Magda Kruger tied for 65
th (81-84-76=241).
Playing as an individual,
Brooke Piearson finished 85
th (94-87-81=262).
