Toscano Wins Third Career Title

PHOENIX—South Dakota State's Teresa Toscano won the GCU Invitational, her third collegiate individual title, and the Jackrabbits' women's golf team finished fifth Sunday.

Toscano won her title after a three-person playoff. She registered a birdie while Southern Utah's Chanikan (Pluem) Yongyuan and Lamar's Elodie Chaplet recorded pars on the first hole.

The junior shot a career-tying 4-under par 212 (70-71-71) and collected 12 birdies. Her first title this season came Sept. 1, 2018, at the season-opening UNO Invitational.

The Jackrabbits shot a three-round 896 (299-305-292) on the par 72, 6,059-yard GCU Golf Course. Toledo won the 20-team event with an 877.
Mia Seeman tied for 28th (76-76-74=226) and Lani Potter tied for 36th (77-78-72=227). Cassidy Laidlaw finished 56th (76-80-75=231) and Sydney Bormann tied for 90th (80-83-79=242).
