COLLEGE STATION, Texas - South Dakota State equestrian dropped its meet 13-3 against No. 9 Baylor Friday afternoon.
Kodi O'Boyle earned a point in her 74-point ride in Horsemanship as the Jacks sat even with Baylor 2-2 through the first event.
Jordan Gates scored the other point for SDSU with a 72 while
Jadyn Taylor scored a 72.5 and
Rylee Streit scored a 71.5.
Jessica Boesch led SDSU with a career-high ride of 82 on the Flat, but State fell 4-0 in the event to go down 6-2 at the meet's midway point.
Rachel Darby also scored a career-high with a 71 while
Hayley Kastrup (81) and
Jessica Martinez (78) also showed.
Isabelle Riggs scored a 71 in her ride in Reining to earn the Jacks their lone point of the event. Streit scored a 69.5,
Cassandra Townsend scored a 69 and
Natalie Gydesen a 68 in the event.
SDSU dropped Fences 4-0 but had quality rides from
Samantha Hunsecker (80),
Claire Garduno (79), Kastrup (75) and Martinez (73).
Notes
- Jessica Martinez is now second all-time in career meets competed in Fences with 41, one shy of the top spot.
- Martinez has competed in 36 career meets on the Flat, tied for third all-time with Jessica Andronowitz (2013-17).
- Claire Garduno has now competed in 27 career meets in Fences, good for ninth all-time.
- Jordan Gates sits second all-time with 17 career wins in Horsemanship, three short of the school record.
