COLUMBIA, Mo. — Led by top-25 individual finishes by Ben Olson and Joseph Minor-Williams, the South Dakota State men's cross country team recorded a sixth-place finish in the team standings Friday at the NCAA Division I Midwest Regional.

Olson broke the 30-minute mark on the 10,000-meter Gans Creek Cross Country Course, clocking in at 29 minutes, 59.7 seconds. Minor-Williams followed slightly behind in 24th place with a time of 30:08.2. Both Jackrabbit runners remained in the lead pack throughout the race and held spots in the top five at the 6,000-meter mark.
 Daniel Burkhalter made a push in the back half of the race to finish just outside the top 25, posting a 27th-place time of 30:09.7. Thomas Breuckman (62nd, 30:43.7) and Max Selbach (73rd, 30:56.4) completed the Jackrabbits' scoring runs.

Closing out the SDSU effort were Mason McDonald (78th, 30:59.8) and Lucas Caminiti (88th, 31:07.6).

Oklahoma State's Isai Rodriguez overtook leader Ryan Martins of Loyola (Ill.) in the final 250 meters to post a winning time of 29:40.1. OSU and Tulsa tied for the team title with 49 points to earn automatic bids to next week's NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships, with Tulsa earning the top spot on a tiebreaker by having three of its five scoring runners place ahead of the Cowboys. Iowa State was third with 73 points, while the Jackrabbits tallied 204 points for their sixth-place finish, which ranked as the highest by a Summit League squad.
