COLUMBIA, MO. – Cashton Johnson and Jackson Dutcher each finished among the top 35 in an 11^th place finish for the men and Meghan Ford placed 24^th to lead the women to 15^th place in a highly competitive field at the Gans Creek Classic Friday morning.

"Good day for the Jackrabbits. It was great to get a lot of people back into the lineup. Meghan Ford's effort was outstanding, given that it was her first race since February. On the men's side, it was a good result overall. The good part is that we've got a lot of season in front of us."

GANS CREEK CLASSIC
Meghan Ford's time of 20:15.4 marked a 12 second improvement from her 6K time at the Missouri Pre-Nationals Invitational at Gans Creek Cross Country Course last season. Faith Wiese had another impressive showing, finishing inside of the top 50, clocking in at 20:40.9.

The third Jackrabbit to finish was Nora Peterson, who placed 111^th in 21:21.3. Eleni Lovgren followed closely behind in 113^th, crossing the line in 21:23.0 in her first race of the season. Ashley Overgaauw rounded out the top five in 118^th, timing in at 21:25.8.

On the men's side, Cashton Johnson paced SDSU, placing 30^th with a time of 23:28.4. Jackson Dutcher recorded a 35^th place finish in 23:31.1, while Will Lohr followed as the third Jackrabbit finisher, placing 66^th overall in 23:59.3.

Brandon Kampsen and Cade Sanvik used second half pushes to find themselves in the top five, each placing in the top 80 of the meet, with times of 24:04.0 and 24:04.7 respectively.

In the black race, Dale Johnson, Luke Johnson, and Jared Lutmer all finished inside of the top ten.

AUGUSTANA INVITATIONAL
The women's team finished in 9^th place at the Augustana Invitational in Sioux Falls. Annika Larson was the best scorer for the Jacks, finishing in 36^th place with a time of 21:55.3.

Anna Sheriff and Ellie Robinson each finished inside the top 50, placing 42^nd and 46^th respectively, while Emery Larson and Brianne Travis rounded out the scoring five.
