The South Dakota State equestrian team returns to action this weekend with a pair of head-to-head competitions against ranked opponents in Dallas, Texas.
Â
The Jackrabbits, who completed the fall portion of their schedule with a 2-3 record in head-to-head competition, are slated to open the weekend with a Friday afternoon matchup against eighth-ranked and 3-0 Delaware State. SDSU and the Hornets will compete in two events Friday afternoon before wrapping up their competition at 8 a.m. Saturday.
Â
Also on Saturday, the Jackrabbits will compete against No. 3 and defending NCEA champion Southern Methodist, starting at 11 a.m. at the Dallas Equestrian Center. SMU enters the weekend with a 4-2 record.
Â
SDSU last competed against SMU in 2021, dropping a 15-4 road decision to the Mustangs. The Jackrabbits came away with a 10-9 victory over Delaware State last February at SDSU's DeHaan Equestrian Center.
