OMAHA - The South Dakota State women's golf team finished in third place at the Stampede at the Creek Tuesday at Indian Creek Golf Course.
A trio of Jackrabbits finished inside the top ten. Sophomore
McKenzie Mages tied for fourth place, finishing top-five for the second consecutive outing. She fired an even-par 72 Tuesday, bringing her three-round tally to 222 (+6). Mages tallied eight birdies at the tournament, the third-most of all players.
Piper Stubbs finished in sixth place with a 224 (+8) scorecard. She averaged 4.83 shots per par-five hole, the best of all players, and had six birdies over three rounds.
Shakira-Ann Kuys tied for eighth place with a 227 (+11) and also recorded six birdies.
Alex Kandolin rounded out the scorers with a t-23rd place finish (233, +17). Rese Jansa finished in a tie for 28th (235, +19) and
Tatum Depuydt came in 44th place (242, +26).
Molly O'Hara competed individually and finished in a tie for 48th (244, +28).
The SDSU team posted a 906 (+42) team tally, their third-best three-round score of the season. The Jacks finished 11 shots behind St. Thomas and 14 behind North Dakota State.
NOTES
The Jackrabbits recorded 34 team birdies, the most of all teams.
