MEN TAKE EIGHTH WHILE WOMEN FINISH 11TH
By: Becca Ball
FALCON HEIGHTS, MINN. — South Dakota State men's cross country team took eighth, while the women's team finished 11th of 17 teams at the 38th annual Roy Griak Invitational Friday morning.
"Griak treated us the way it always does. We're definitely not leaving here satisfied. There were some positive performances, people who performed well under tough conditions. It's good we got Carson through a race and I think he'll only progress from here. Collectively, I think the men are disappointed and the women know there's an opportunity to do something special today and just came up a little bit short of what they had hoped to do. But we're confident that we can grow from this and get better over the next month to six weeks as we head towards championship season.
