South Dakota State will face Minnesota Crookston in the opening round of the ECAC Equestrian Championship next week.
The Jackrabbits, 3-8 in head-to-head competition this season are seeded fourth, while Minnesota Crookston received the No. 5 seed. The two squads are scheduled to square off at noon on Thursday, March 27, with the winner advancing to face host and top seed UT Martin the following day.
The competition runs through March 29 at the Ned McWherter Agricultural Complex in Martin, Tennessee.
SDSU defeated Minnesota Crookston in both of their previous matchups this season — the Jackrabbits claimed a 12-4 decision on Nov. 2, followed by an 11-6 victory to close out regular season action on March 8. Both previous meetings took place at SDSU's DeHaan Equestrian Center.
Second-seeded UC Davis and third-seeded Delaware State round out the tournament field. UC Davis has won each of the last two ECAC titles.
