BROOKINGS, S.D. - Seven of nine incoming Jackrabbits were finalists at their respective state tournaments, with five future Jacks taking home state titles.
Keenan Sheridan and Micah Hach both took home South Dakota state tournament titles. Sheridan took home the A175-pound crown as he scored two wins by fall and two by tech fall on his way to his first state title. Hach completed an undefeated season, going 48-0 and scoring four wins by fall at the state tournament to take home the A285-pound crown, his first state title.
Liam Neitzel and Jacob Herm both repeated as state champs at the Wisconsin state tournament. Neitzel finished his senior season with his third Wisconsin state title, dominating the D1-132 division with two wins by fall and two by tech fall. Herm picked up his second state title with three wins by fall and one by major decision on his way to the D1-165 pound title.
Conlan Carlson and Jarrett Wadsen competed at the Minnesota State Championships. Carlson scored his first state title win in the 152AAA division, winning two matches by tech fall, one by fall, and one by decision, finishing his high school career with a state title. Wadsen was a finalist in the 172AAA division, scoring two wins by fall and one by tech fall before dropping the championship match in a close 4-3 decision.
Bas Diaz was the first Jackrabbit to compete at his state tournament at the Iowa state tournament. Diaz picked up two wins by decision and one by fall on his way to the state title match in the 3A 157-pound weight class. Diaz would drop the final match in a 7-2 decision, ending his career as a two-time Iowa state champ.
Signees Zach Ballante and Carson Dupill did not compete this high school wrestling season. Ballante picked up an injury before the season started and could not compete, but he finished his high school career as a New Jersey state champ in 2024. Carson Dupill did not wrestle in high school this year but competed in several open tournaments on the collegiate circuit, finishing first at the DWU Open and Dragon Open and second at the Worthington Open.
