MESA, Ariz. - South Dakota State junior
Tyler Seeling fired a 65 (-6) for his opening round at the 2025 Summit League Men's Golf Championships Sunday and has a five-shot lead at the top of the tournament leaderboard.
Seeling's 65 sets a new SDSU record for a single round at the Summit League Championship. The previous record was set by teammate
Ty Kretz with a 66 at last season's tournament. Seeling also matched the program's overall single-round record, which he shares with teammate
Bryson Mercier, among others.
Mercier also went under par Sunday. He posted a 70 (-1) with four birdies for his first lap and sits in a six-way tie for second place.
Drew Teeter is one shot back with a 71 (E) and tied for eighth place.
Ty Kretz is tied for 16th place (73, +2) and
Jake Olson is tied for 26th place (74, +3).
As a team, SDSU leads the field by eight shots over North Dakota State. Powered by Seeling, the Jackrabbits are 5-under through 18 holes.
UP NEXT
The Jackrabbits will tee off with the first group for round two beginning at 7 a.m. MST Monday.
