South Dakota State University head coach Kamerra Brown announced Wednesday the recent signings of five youth standouts who plan to enroll next fall and compete for the Jackrabbit equestrian program.

The signees include:
REAGAN GEHM
Gehm won Zone 7 championships in 2022 and 2024 and has competed in numerous national events in recent years. She placed 14th overall at the 2023 Junior Hunter Finals and also has qualified for the Medal Finals three times (2022, 2023, 2024) and the Maclay Finals twice (2023, 2024). Gehm also has qualified three horses for the 2025 Junior Hunter Finals.
She will graduate this spring from Villa Duchesne Catholic High School, where she has been a member of the National Honor Society.
ADDISON SATERBAK
Saterbak has recorded top-10 finishes at the American Quarter Horse Youth Association World Show and Quarter Horse Congress national competitions, while also claiming multiple AQHA circuit titles and high-point awards.
She has received AP Scholar recognition and is a member of the National Honor Society at Mahtomedi High School.
KATHLEEN SCHMITZ
Schmitz won a world title at the Appaloosa Youth World Show in 2023, followed by claiming two Reserve world titles and a Reserve high-point award the following summer. She also posted a top-five finish in showmanship at the 2024 Iowa State Fair while competing on the 4-H circuit.
In addition to competing in equestrian, Schmitz was a member of the cross country team at Harlan Community High School. A member of the National Honor Society, she also has received the FFA state degree and has been active in band and mock trial.
LUCY PUHALLA
Puhalla competed in the Junior Hunter finals in both 2022 and 2023, and has been a NHS Hamel (2023) and EMO Jump Seat medal finalist (2024) in recent years. She also qualified for the 2024 Gladstone Cup.
A honor student at North Catholic High School, she has been honored with the Presidential Academic Achievement Award two times.
HEIDI WHITE
White has qualified for the NHS Medal Finals, Jump Seat Medal Finals and Maclay Regionals, while also adding a top-40 finish at the USHJA Jump Seat Medal Finals. She also has qualified multiple horses for the USEF Junior Hunter Finals and posted a top-12 finish in the 16-year old Equitation at Capital Challenge.
In addition to competing, she has been a working student for multiple top show farms in Georgia and Florida.
