BROOKINGS, S.D. - The South Dakota State men's golf team has announced the addition of Jacob Wilson to the roster for the 2025-26 season.
Wilson, a native of Forest Lake, Minnesota, will join the Jackrabbits following a career at Mahtomedi High School.
"Jacob committed to us last summer and we are extremely excited that he'll be joining us in Brookings this fall," said head coach
Parker Edens. "Jacob is a hard-working, athletic and competitive player, he will fit right in with our culture. His playing accomplishments speak for themselves. I am excited to see what Jacob can do in his four years as a Jackrabbit!"Â
Wilson was named the Metro East Player of the Year three times - his freshman, sophomore and junior years - and is a two-time all-state honoree. He has competed individually at the state tournament four times, beginning with his eighth grade season, and helped the Zephyrs reach the state tournament as a team in 2021 and 2023. Wilson placed 10th at state as a sophomore in 2023 and third as a junior in 2024. His senior season is ongoing.
Wilson was named the PGA Minnesota Junior Golf Players Tour Player of the Year in 2023.
Wilson is the son of William and Karyn. He plans to pursue a degree in business at South Dakota State.
