HARRIS, Mich. - South Dakota State golfer
Tyler Seeling matched the NCAA single-round record with a 12-under-par 60 Sunday afternoon during the second round of the Island Resort Intercollegiate at Sage Run Golf Club.Â
The senior posted three eagles in a five-hole stretch and added seven birdies for his second lap. He is the 21st player in college golf history to sign for a 60,
per a Golfweek article from Cameron Jourdan, and bested the SDSU program record by five strokes.
Seeling sits in a three-way tie for second place following the first 36 holes of the SDSU-hosted event. West Virginia's Ryan Leach leads the field at 16-under, following by Seeling, Andre Zhu (Purdue) and Samuel Baumuller (St. Mary's) at 11-under.
The SDSU team is tied for seventh place with 18 holes remaining. After Seeling,
Ty Adkins is tied for 34th place (-2). He posted a 68 (-4) for his first round as a Jackrabbit, following by a 74 (+2) for round two.
Bryson Mercier (t-62nd, +2),
Jacob Wilson (t-62nd, +2) and
Parker Brock (t-68th, +3) round out the SDSU team.
The Jacks have five individuals competing in Michigan, led by
Jake Olson in a tie for 58th place (+1) after day one.

Tyler Seeling broke his own program record of 65, which he recorded at the Summit League Championships last season. He shared that previous record with Geoff Mead (2007), David Smith (2010), Grand Smith (2015), Jacob Otta (2019)
