The South Dakota State equestrian team hosts Minnesota Crookston on Saturday with a head-to-head competition that serves as the Jackrabbits' home opener. Action is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. at the DeHaan Equestrian Center in Brookings.

The Jackrabbits enter the matchup with a 1-1 overall record. Minnesota Crookston is 0-2 in head-to-head competition, with previous matchups against ECAC foe Delaware State and Texas A&M.

SDSU has been off from competition since their trip to the Lone Star State in September where they competed against Baylor and TCU.

The last time both teams met, SDSU scored a 12-8 decision over the Golden Eagles in 2025. Heidi White and Sierra Elliott were most outstanding performers in their respective events for SDSU. The Jackrabbits closed out the victory with a sweep in reining.

Saturday's competition will mark the first of the season between the two squads. They are scheduled to meet again in February in Minnesota.
