SPRINGFIELD, MASS. - South Dakota State senior
Brooklyn Meyer was announced as a midseason top-10 candidate for the 2026 Lisa Leslie Center of the Year Award by the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame on Friday.
Meyer averages 21.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.8 blocks for SDSU this season, all team highs. Meyer shoots .637 from the floor, which ranks fourth in the nation. Meyer is the only mid-major player on the watch list for the best center in college basketball and is the only Summit League player recognized on any of the positional award lists.
Led by Meyer, South Dakota State is 18-6 overall and 8-2 in Summit League action. The Jackrabbits are off this weekend and return to the court to host North Dakota Thursday night at First Bank & Trust Arena.
