CURRY AND HACKBART EARN GOLD AT MINNESOTA STATE OPEN

MANKATO, MINN. — South Dakota State's throwers squad posted four podium finishes at the Minnesota State Open Sunday afternoon.
Josie Curry won the women's hammer throw with a mark of 173-01 (52.77m). On the men's side, Ryan Hackbart claimed the top of the podium with a throw of 183-10 (56.03m), while TJ Christensen finished fourth with a mark of 156-11 (47.83m).
Piper Eby and Addy Engel continue to make waves in their first collegiate season. Eby claimed runner-up in discus with a mark of 153-09 (46.88m), while Engel took fourth with a throw of 150-01 (45.75m).
In men's discus, Ethan Fischer took bronze with a throw of 185-01 (56.42m), while Christensen finished fourth after posting a mark of 173-02 (52.79m). Hackbart and Sam Ruid competed as well, finishing sixth and seventh, respectively. Hackbart threw 160-06 (48.93m), while Ruid hit a mark of 159-07 (48.64m).
