FAYETTEVILLE, ARK. — South Dakota State wraps up its season at the NCAA West First Round on Friday evening.

"It was a tough way to end the season, certainly was not the outcomes we wanted. It was also tough to see the end of the road for Ethan and Cody. They represented the program honourably."

Caymen Gebheim and Ethan Fischer competed in the discus event, where they finished 30th and 38th, respectively. Gebheim posted a mark of 174-11 (53.31m), while Fischer threw 164-6 (50.14m).

Cody Larson finished his collegiate career in the steeplechase quarterfinals, where he finished 31st with a time of 8:55.36.

Ellie Harris made her NCAA West First Round debut in the 200-meter race, where she clocked a time of 23.99 to place 41st in the first round race.

Brandon Kampsen made his way to the West First Round for the first time in his collegiate career as well. Kampsen raced in the 800-meter first round, where he finished 46th with a time of 1:50.84.
