SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — South Dakota State's Cody Larson earns the Kwik Star Summit League Men's Track Peak Performer of the Week, as announced by the league Tuesday afternoon.
Larson earned this honor after besting his own program record in the 3000-meter steeplechase at the Bryan Clay Invitational last Thursday evening. The South Dakota native posted a time of 8:28.94 to finish seventh in his heat. His time is currently the seventh-fastest steeplechase performance in the nation so far this season, which will allow him to compete at the NCAA West First Round in late May. Larson also competed in the 1500-meter Invite competition, where he finished 10th with a time of 3:40.37, only 0.22 seconds away from Head Coach Rod DeHaven's program record of 3:40.15.
